With that same passion, Sherman & Sons Lawn Care brings that attentiveness to each of its landscaping jobs—whether planting trees, installing new lawns or building hardscapes.

A family-owned business, the father and sons along with their staff, create stunning landscapes, as well as build paver patios, wood decks, retaining walls, outdoor fireplaces and water fountains to enhance outdoor living. With degreed horticulturists on staff, the company provides a unique perspective and expert know-how as it designs landscapes with continuous color and interest that you can enjoy year-round and for years to come.

OUR TEAM

An auto technician by trade, Dale made a career switch after suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and started to work in the lawn care industry, where he eventually founded his own business—a place where father and sons could work together and grow as a family. His boys jumped in to help out at an early age, and they furthered their education in the field as one earned a degree in landscape design and construction, and the other a degree in landscape maintenance.

Dale’s love for landscaping began when he would visit his grandparents’ farm that had abundant gardens and fruit trees aplenty. And as they say…the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree, as he has made a living embracing his love for nature instilled by generations before.

Growing up Alex always had a passion for the land and felt if he tended to mother nature, she would tend to him. In high school, he participated in 4-H council and won landscaping awards at the state fair for consecutive years. So it was a natural extension for Alex to go to college and earn a degree in landscape design and construction from The Ohio State University.

A steward of the land, he appreciates the environment and wants to protect it, and believes you either use it for enjoyment or use it for production to feed your family.

His mantra: you can make anything you want as long as you put your love and joy into it.

Usually the first, middle and last person you talk to, Anita is the office manager. She sets up all of the appointments, sends customers the estimates and provides excellent customer service. She also handles accounting and human resources for the company.

Anita grew up on a self-sustained farm with cows, horses, chickens, pigs and sheep, so she developed a love for the outdoors at an early age. She loves gardening and planting flowers and says to her “planting flowers is therapy.” Her favorite flower: the Lenten rose with all their vibrant colors.

Yes, we are a full-service landscaping company that works with you from concept to completion. With degreed horticulturists on staff, we take your ideas and pair them with our skills to create a landscape that will provide color and interest year-round.
Do you do hardscapes?

Yes, we build both paver patios and wood decks. Plus, we can add retaining walls, firepits, water fountains and other hardscapes to your yard.

Where do you get your plants?

All of our shrubs and trees are locally grown, so they are indigenous to our region and will thrive better in our climate. And by buying local we—and thus you—are supporting other small businesses in our community.
How long has your company been in business?

Our business was established in 2007, but collectively our staff has more than a half-century of horticultural experience. We have thousands of satisfied customers who we have served over the past two decades for both residential and commercial jobs.
